Phung H. Jefferson, Esq., P.C.

It’s typically not a good day if you need to contact an attorney, and Phung Jefferson understands. The reason for that is she truly cares about helping people, whether the work involves an emotional family law case, an unexpected personal injury or helping a small business get started.

“It’s about you (the client),” she says. “I’m up front with you. I’m going to be honest with you, despite the possibility that you will not like what I say. This establishes the trust needed to ensure that you know that I am looking out for your best interests.”

Her success is evident. All of her clients have come to her on a referral basis since she opened her practice on Tonopah Drive in 2003.

Jefferson understands the plight of small businesses because she owned one. Under her small-business program, owners can have an attorney at their beck and call for a small monthly fee. Unlike similar programs on the market, clients will be assured of personal interaction and representation by Jefferson.

Having legal knowledge close at hand provides comfort, she says. And if a client needs help with legal matters she doesn’t handle, Jefferson has trusted associates to whom she will refer. She also educates her clients and leaves no questions unanswered.

“At the end of the day, I feel like I have made a difference. … This is reflected by the fact that my clients return time and time again and continue to refer friends, family and business associates,” she says.

Ms. Jefferson first moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1982 when her father was transferred to Nellis Air Force Base. She attended El Dorado High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1992. After receiving her degree she relocated to Southern California where she lived until 1996. While in California she earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law in Fullerton, California. Ms. Jefferson currently maintains licenses to practice law in both Nevada and California.

Ms. Jefferson began practicing law in Nevada in October 2002, with one of the original law firms in Las Vegas. In August 2003, she opened her own practice, which she still maintains today. Her practice can be characterized as a general practice, which includes providing legal assistance and representation to both for- profit and non-profit businesses. In addition to this area of practice she also represents individuals in various areas of civil practice including family law. She has argued a child custody matter before the Supreme Court of Nevada en banc (full court) which set a new precedence with the regard to non-parent custody modifications. The case, Hudson v. Jones, 138 P.3d 429 (Nev. 2006) is now published in State and National legal publications and is controlling case law

On a personal note, in addition to maintaining a private practice, with the support of three (3) dedicated individuals, she is also a single parent of two (2) daughters of thirteen (13) and six (6).
